7 Shopify SEO Apps Compared (2026): Free and Paid Plans
Updated October 6, 2026. The app names, features and monthly prices below were checked against their Shopify App Store listings. Prices are in USD and can change; annual discounts, usage charges and plan limits vary.
An SEO app can help maintain metadata, optimize images, find broken links or add structured data. Choose it to address a problem you have measured. A high score inside an app does not establish that Google has indexed your pages or that rankings will improve.

1. Magical SEO Doctor
SEO Doctor lists a guided product SEO checklist, metadata and image fixes, broken-link tools and automation. Its free manual plan audits 50 products. Paid plans list audits and automatic fixes for 1,000, 5,000 or 50,000 products. Compare your catalog size with those limits before choosing.
2. Avada AI SEO Image Optimizer
Avada lists on-page audits, image compression, metadata tools and structured data. Its free plan includes limited image optimizations and audits; the Pro and Enterprise tiers extend those tools. The paid plans currently list a seven-day trial, correcting the older guide’s 14-day claim.
3. BOOSTER AI SEO + AEO OPTIMIZER
Booster’s free plan lists alt-text tools, manual audits and broken-link reporting. Pro adds metadata optimization, automated fixes and structured data. Premium adds image compression and further reporting tools. Check the storage allowance if image compression is your main reason to subscribe.
4. Smart SEO AI & Image Optimizer
Smart SEO offers metadata, image and broken-link tools with quotas that increase by plan. Pro lists JSON-LD and bulk optimization; higher tiers expand audits and automation. Compare both normal plan quotas and trial quotas when testing it.
5. SearchPie: SEO, Schema & Speed
SearchPie lists metadata templates, SEO monitoring, schema and speed features on its Starter plan. Paid tiers add more automated fixes and schema options. Review exactly which structured-data types you need rather than installing a second app to duplicate markup your theme already provides.
6. SEO King
SEO King lists bulk metadata and image editing, store scans and Search Console analytics. Its paid plans are organized around page allowances: 500, 5,000 and 20,000 pages. The listing notes additional services, including premium AI services, so check their costs separately from the base subscription.
7. TinySEO, formerly TinyIMG
TinySEO’s pay-as-you-go option includes 50 image optimizations per month and charges three cents per additional image. Paid tiers include larger image allowances and additional SEO tools, with overage charges. “Free to install” should not be read as unlimited free usage.
Choose a tool around an observed problem
- Check indexing first. Use Google Search Console to inspect important URLs and indexing reports.
- Measure speed. Use PageSpeed Insights to identify a specific loading problem before installing speed tools.
- Avoid overlapping changes. Assign responsibility for metadata, redirects and schema to one tool or workflow so multiple apps do not overwrite each other.
- Test on a theme copy. Inspect the resulting metadata, page layout and structured data before applying broad changes.
- Check operating costs. Review catalog/page limits, image quotas, AI allowances and usage charges.
What changed from the 2024 guide?
This update replaces outdated app names, prices, quotas and trial terms with current listing information. We removed unverified customer quotes, traffic-growth percentages and case studies rather than presenting them as evidence. This is a comparison of published capabilities, not an independent speed benchmark or a guarantee of higher rankings.
