One job, done well
We aren't building a community platform or a CRM. We're building the comments section. Everything else is scope creep.
A small team fixing one thing well.
Better Blog Comments is built by Bolle Digital, the team behind RecipeKit and a handful of other Shopify apps. Together, our apps run on more than 1,300 Shopify stores. We make tools that do one job, do it cleanly and stay out of your way.
We run a few Shopify blogs ourselves. Every time we wanted real conversation, with threaded replies, ratings and reasonable spam protection, we ran into the same wall: Shopify's default comments aren't built for it. The workarounds were worse. Disqus loads a megabyte of JavaScript and serves your readers ads. Facebook comments lock you into Meta. And the alternatives hadn't been touched in years.
So we built the one we wanted. Threaded. Rated. Spam-resistant. Theme-native. Stored in your own Shopify store, not on a third-party network. Priced like a Shopify app: free to start, then one flat monthly price with no per-comment fees.
If that's the thing you've been looking for, we'd love for you to try it.
Three rules we hold ourselves to.
We aren't building a community platform or a CRM. We're building the comments section. Everything else is scope creep.
Comments are first-party data. They live in your Shopify store, under your posts, not on a third-party network that serves your readers ads.
Every support email is read by someone who works on the app. No outsourced first line. We answer every message.
Try it. Email us if anything's missing.
Free for your first 25 comments. A real human on the other end of every message.
The comments section we wanted for our own blogs.
We weren't trying to build a community platform. We were trying to fix the comments box under a recipe post on our own Shopify store — threaded, rated, spam-resistant, theme-native. This is that box, shipped.
Threaded replies
Because flat comment lists kill any discussion past the second reply.
Star ratings
Because our most-trafficked posts were recipes, and recipes need ratings.
Spam protection
Because we got tired of pasting bot comments into the trash every morning.
Reply notifications
Because the best conversations are the ones readers come back to.
Tried this last weekend with peaches instead of strawberries. The tip about chilling the wine first made a huge difference.
Love that swap, Sarah. Peaches make it taste like an aperol spritz had a better-dressed cousin.
Made a half batch for date night and we drank the whole thing. Adding the rosemary syrup next time.
